Practical assessments are important tools used to test a Learner’s ability to perform specific tasks correctly.
Preparing for practical assessments include planning your training calendar and setting deadlines for course completion. You should also include set dates in your training calendar for assessments so your learners can prepare for them in advance.
Learners will only receive a certificate once they have completed both the theory and practical components of a course.
Please note, not all theory courses have practical assessments, so have a look at your facilitator guide to see whether there are practicals available.
Let's look at how to perform a practical assessment:
Step 2: Set up practical assessment stations.
Step 3: The Lobster Lead, Department Manager or Outlet Manager, explains to the learner what is being tested during the practical assessment.
Step 4: Conduct the practical assessment.
Step 5: The Lobster Lead, Department Manager or Outlet Manager provides each student with feedback on their performance.
Step 6: The Lobster Lead, Department Manager or Outlet Manager records practical marks via their Admin Portal – See how to input them here.
