How to open up the Developer's Tool

The Lobster Ink Customer Service team may request that you provide them with a screen recording of the issue you're experiencing with the Developer's Tool open. This is a tool that our engineers use to delve deeper into technical issues and identify errors in the backend. 

How to open the Developer's Tool

To open up the Developer's Tool, please follow the steps below: 

Step 1: At the top-right corner of your browser, click the 3 dots and select More Tools

Step 3:
Once the Tool opens up, click on the double arrow and click on Console

Step 4: Once the Console tab is open in your browser, please follow the steps you took before you got the error, recording the process as you go along

When troubleshooting content-related issues, such as opening an interactive lesson that opens up in a pop-up window, we'll need the Developer's Tool opened up in the pop-up window to see any technical errors that may be present in that lesson. 

To open up the Developer's Tool in a pop-up window, please see the steps below: 

Step 1: Follow the initial steps above to open up the Developer's Tool and click the Settings icon in the tool

Step 2:  In the Settings menu under the Preferences tab, scroll all the way down in the Preferences menu. Under Global, select Auto-open DevTools for popups

Step 3: Once the Console tab is open in the pop-up window, please follow the steps you took before you got the error, recording the process as you go along
