What are Practical Assessments?

What are practical assessments and why are they important?

Practical assessments validate the skills learners have gained during theory lessons by testing them in real-world scenarios. They are a fundamental tool to help learners progress through their learning journeys.

How do practical assessments work?

Once the learner has completed the theory section, a manager must schedule a time to conduct their practical assessment. Please reach out to your manager or learning coordinator to further assist you with conducting your practical assessment.

On the day, you'll perform a list of tasks covered in the theory lessons and are assessed by your manager. Your manager inputs the final score into the platform and you'll be notified about your results.

Who can take practical assessments?

Practical Assessments require learners to demonstrate that they can apply what they’ve learned to their job role and must be conducted by a manager or supervisor.

Learners should complete the theory part of a course independently before attempting the Practical Assessment.
